Ida, the failed 'Link'
This is something that bothers me about some scientists and the media in general. The world today is filled with so much pride that we lose sight of our goals. People lose sight of being truthful or honest.
Recently a man gathered a group of scientists to investigate a fossil he found and bought. In secret they picked, poked, scanned, and recreated this fossil. They then contacted the media and a huge storm blew into our faces. The fact that this fossil was some awesome missing link to our existence.
Okay, so being with CAVE Ministries as some of you know, we of course have to take this whole thing seriously. Investigate it and find out what it is and how it REALLY falls into things.
The result. In a nut shell. This is a lemur. There was only one man that analyzed this that actually said it was an evolution missing link, the others said otherwise. That same man was the purchaser and stated in his video that he had no experience analyzing fossils.
It's sad really. This man will go out, spend millions on a fossil, panic and call a group of scientists together, spend 2 years analyzing it. WHAT DO YOU THINK HE'S GOING TO SAY? He's going to preach his case til he dies. He spent 2 years and millions on it. This is his ticket to fame and immortalizing himself in text books. This is what's corrupt in our society. A man who says he's a scientist is taken dead serious and the media will blow it up to get attention. Pride controls our thoughts, decisions, and information feeds. People would rather lie their way to the top/fame than die honest and in the shadows.
So do we really want this happening? This is proof of corruption in science. Where any person can point at something mold it into what they think it is, and anyone who says otherwise is "stupid" and isn't reading the "piles of evidence". Do we dare say our scientific community is being filled with people who instead of gathering observable evidence, they just mold something into what they want, then slam the process with their faked evidence and anyone who can't accept it is "stupid", "ignorant", or "unable to open their ears"?
Today I watched the video they had on History Channel. To say the least, it was the most laughs I've had in years. A class 1 comedy. It was basically 1 and half hours of:
"It's a lemur, it's a lemur, it's a lemur, LOOK AT IT'S FOOT!! (insert zoom in of ankle which is a blotch of brown and no form) This bone here is exactly like a human!! (Insert diagram of a human and a fabricated one of Ida that look absolutely nothing alike) This... people is the missing link!"
Other humorous moments was the reason they finally broke off from Lemurs. Their reasoning was the fact that it didn't have a visible claw for grooming, and didn't have a set of visible lower front teeth. Saying that it was a "completely intact fossil" even though countless times saying only 40%, being smashed sideways and missing a leg.
Last mentionable humorous moment was the use of "Lucy" to support it. Lucy is a complete and utter joke to the scientific community. It's been debunked and laughed out of many text books, museums, and scientific groups. It was a fraud and so is this.
Finally, is this a sign of dead journalism? That the news stations would eat this alive before it was even investigated? The scientific community hadn't even seen this yet. That's like some sheriff of some district in Texas saying the President has gotten sick with a bad case of the flu and the media broadcasting it before contacting the white house. Anyhow, not going to get too deep into the media part, that's another blog topic for later.

Scientists around the world have already identified this as a Lemur. The video information people have duplicated all over Youtube is antiquated and outdated. Those scientists failed to get their research peer reviewed before they waged their marketing campaign.
If there are so many transitional forms in the fossil record why all the hoopla? There are only merely speculations.
